I am, admittedly, not conquering the music for Meridian Knights in any particular order. This is actually some late game music.
Like a few other Meridian Knights pieces, it’s actually an older piece of music I wrote as practice and updated; I did an exercise some many years ago where I took 10 elements and wrote potential stage music for them as a song writing exercise. It was fun.
This one was the “dark” piece. As there’s no dark stage in this game (as such), this seemed to fit.
Well, it’s officially winter now — for a few days even. What better way to commemorate this lovely 60 degree weather than by posting the ice level music for Meridian Knights, so I did that.
You may be wondering why there are two characters. I’m going to keep you wondering. The stage takes place on Mount Zimno, and the level is based on movement — some surfaces impede movement (snow) and some are slippery (ice). I took a lot of inspiration from various ice levels for this one, in particular, RPG ice levels, and then tried to transform them into something appropriate for a platform.
Musically, this is definitely one of my slower pieces. I like fast music, what can I say? And honestly, I usually tone down the tempo after I get used to a composition. The melody is also far different than almost any other composition I’ve ever written. I got lucky when creating it — I was playing around with trying to translate a classical guitar to MIDI at one point (I dont remember the context of this, sorry), and came up with this.
And now, you know the rest of the story.
Oh look, another chiptune I’ve composed for stage music on Meridian Knights.
This is Blyksa’s Theme, “Go, Speed Of Light Racer, Go!” It’s for the electric stage, which takes place in a power plant called The Teknastantz.
This one is fast, too. I like fast music. That aside, there’s some influence from the original batman theme creeping in. Blyska is a pretty competitive girl, so it fits. I can’t entirely explain it, but hey, it fits. This also has elements from “I touched your guitar, just as Gienwy Volcano does.
A chiptune I’ve composed for stage music on Meridian Knights.
This is Grolzorn’s Theme, “Rage In The Stage.” The fire level, of course, Gienwy Volcano.
I figured a fast, intense metal like composition would be perfect for a fire level. So I translated that into a chiptune. Seemed logical.
Drew some minor influence from Mega Man / Mega Man X, definitely some from metal music. Loosely based off an old composition called “I Touched Your Guitar.”
I wrote another potential theme for my podcast. You can listen to it right here, with this convenient Youtube Video I personally embedded in the page.
Have some sort of preference, feedback, or comment on the songs? You can alter destiny by sharing your thoughts on my potential podcast theme.
(HINT: This is a completely different composition than the last video.)
On my Facebook page, I recently announced I was working on launching a comedy style podcast (far different than my old podcast). As with “every” podcast, it needs a good theme song. So I sat down and I wrote one.
Give it a listen, and provide feedback, or something. Like, share, repeat. You get the idea. I’m thinking 40 seconds might long. You at home can help. Or something.
